writing blog post year 7/8

In writing I have been learning to:
  • use all basic punctuation independently
  • attempt more complex punctuation (eg semicolons, colons, parentheses)

I have been especially focussing on using parentheses and commas. I have highlighted these in green where I have used them as well as other punctuation that I changed because it was used incorrectly. Here is a piece of my writing that shows this.

a peermediator is someone that fixes problems that follows the leadership traits. One of the

leadership traits are active thinker that is able to fix problems and think creatively.

Who is leader that has showen this leadership trait and how.

my teacher by helping me work and get me above standard or at standard.

Why is this leadership trait important to you this leadership role.

Because you need to think creatively and think really hard. How will you demonstrate this leader ship trait in your role. Think creatively and think whats for the best. As showing active thinking i also need to show trustworthy.

super villan and super hero story

Captain Ukraine and Wolverine

Once there lived Captain Ukraine and Wolverine, they lived in a secret mansion. One day they saw a giant monkey with a Peppa Pig face destroying the city. They were about to go when they saw Joker and the  Daddy fighting it. So they left them to it to. Then the super monkey with a Peppa Pig face transformed into Super Dora Monkey face and Donkey Kong face. After they went to help Joker and the Big Daddy they said thanks but they really did not mean that. The next day Joker stole the crystal of Truth from the City Hall, it is a very rare crystal that was found in the core of the Earth. Then Wolverine and Captain Ukraine went to investigate. They found out that Joker and Big Daddy stole the crystal of truth .

Later they tried to find them but they couldn't find them so they had to wait until they struck again.
Days had passed, even weeks they had to try find them somehow but how? After the investigation they went to the Science House, the research centre for the best scientists in the world. Wolverine
and Captain Ukraine said can you transform Wolverine into Joker and Captain Ukraine into the Big Daddy. So they could think like Joker and act like Joker so they could find the Crystal of Truth.
The scientist said, “That's a dangerous mission for you because you could mutate if something goes wrong with the machine.”
The superheroes said, “It doesn't matter, We are honoured to protect the city no matter what.”
The scientist said, “Okay but it might take a month or even a year to finish the machine.”
                      One Month later…

The Superheroes came back to see the results. The scientists said that we made the machine that will take us to a different world, it might look the same but it's not.
One minute later they waked into the time machine. One week later Wolverine and Captain Ukraine came back and said they knew where the Crystal of Truth was.
It was in their hide out so they climbed into the super marvel vehicle and drove to their hideout under Christchurch City. They found Joker. Joker got out his lightsaber and started shooting lazers out of it. The superheroes just dodged them. Captain Ukraine said, “I wish Batman was alive but he's trapped in the fake world by The Joker.”
The Big Daddy took out his drill (which was his arm) and started fighting Wolverine. Captain Ukraine dodged the bullets and kicked the gun from him. Joker took out his sword and started fighting Captain Ukraine.
Joker said, “Enough, I'm going to get you two trapped in the fake world,then I can rule the world forever.”
Quickly, the portal opened and Batman ran out with the other superheros. They started fighting Joker and the Big Daddy, who were in trouble. The superheroes took the Crystal of Truth out of its glass cage and put Joker and the Big Daddy in the portal so they would be trapped forever.
The super heroes saved the day again.

WALT find perimeters, areas and volumes of simple shapes
Success Criteria
We have:
  • Calculated perimeter by adding up the measurements of each side of the shape. We have put the correct unit of measurement after the total.
  • Calculated area by multiplying the length by the width of the shape and recorded the answer as a squared measurement.
  • Calculated volume by multiplying the length by the width by the height of the shape and recorded the answer as a cubic measurement.

olegs species and habitat description

WALT describe different habitats in NEW ZEALAND and species that live in them
Success Criteria:
  1. Write an introduction
  2. Write a paragraph describing each creature and the habitat
  3. Write a conclusion
  4. Add detail about the habitat eg
    1. Plants, landscape, temperature, weather, animals living there
  5. Add detail about the creatures eg
    1. Appearance
    2. Size
    3. Species they belong to
    4. Diet
    5. If endangered
  6. Use detail and descriptive words
                           I have created a New Zealand beach habitat and included 3 creatures  that live there, one endemic, one native and one introduced.

The beach habitat lots of different treasures on the sandy beaches you can find animals and lots the of plants. Animals like crabs starfish seagull and turtle and lots of little bugs. The plants are seaweed and broken coral that has been washed up on the beach.

The endemic animals are a crab and the seagull the native animal is the is the turtle. The crab eats shrimp. The seagull eats fish and  earthworms and seeds. Turtles eat plants and fish but very small fish.

The turtle has a big green shell he hides there when the predator attacks the turtle it hides in its shell. It eats mostly plants.
The seagull is an endemic animal it’s has a small body and a round head it eats earthworms and seeds.
The crab eats shrimp and small fish  it has a shell but it does not have a spine
It hides when a seagull tries to eat it .

The crab, turtle and seagull all live in the New Zealand beach habitat.
